Legislator Scott Davis proudly joined forces with Legislator Lena Nicks, Emerald City Civic Association, and the Department of Consumer Affairs to host a vital Senior Scam Prevention Workshop at Kennedy Memorial Park. The event focused on providing Hempstead residents with essential tools and knowledge to protect themselves and their families from financial scams and fraudulent schemes.
The collaborative effort aimed to raise awareness about common tactics used by scammers and how seniors can safeguard their personal information. Constituents received practical advice and resources, including how to recognize red flags, report suspicious activity, and stay informed.
“This workshop was about more than just education—it was about empowering our seniors and building community resilience,” said Legislator Davis. “I’m grateful to everyone who helped make the evening a success.”
The event underscores the ongoing commitment by local leaders to support public safety and ensure every resident especially the elderly has access to the information needed to stay safe.
